Don t get me wrong. Beds that don t squeak are typically made from solid wood materials. We have a smallish dog that likes to go under our bed which basically drags it off. They are stronger sturdier and less inclined to produce small noises.

Luckily there are a lot of beds that are now designed to have less motion transfer and great edge support. A bed with a deeper contour yet easy to move around on and with a plush feel it delivers on comfort using high quality materials. Unlike other beds that only allow heavier areas to sink in even lighter parts of the body like hands and arms sink in for a uniform feel. If a bed has poor edge support it will compress a lot along the perimeter giving you a roll off sensation which can be uncomfortable and unnerving.

The main reason that bed frames squeak is that frame is loose so the side rails and headboard are rubbing against each other. This bed skirt is much easier to put on the bed than a typical one though since you don t have to fully remove an entire mattress to do so. My major problem with frames though is that they are way too noisy during sex. I love the look of captain s beds with their convenient storage or elevated frames with drawers.

To achieve maximum motion isolation for any mattress it is important to use a firm solid surface non spring foundation. Don t overlook mattress foundation and mattress sheets foundation. Wood beds tend to squeak less than metal beds that make a screeching sound.
